Convoy Review:
Convoy is a truly fun map for all that is very well spaced out with some good close areas too making for a very pace changing map. Sometimes you may be running around open areas and be easily taking out victims one after another, then you go down a tight alley way where someone has a clearview advantage and your finished.
It has a great area in the middle of the map where the convoy is with two opposing fly overs that are great for sniping and building up a resistance.
It is a very realistic setting due to the amount of scenery and objects around such as the large orange soviet missile and the motel suite.
It has a touch of Nuketowns style to it with the bright vivid building but it is certainly a lot more realistic and is quite interesting to scope out and find new areas.
The Undrpass makes for interesting battles due to the overturned veihcle narrowing the entrance either side providing you and your attacker witha lot of hiding spots to weave round behind them.
The best gameplay to me though consisted of noticing an open toilet door, running through and out the window as if your not gonna pay for the bill then hightailing it across the open area of the underpass and into a blown out section of the wall hoping not to get sniped from the other side. It's definetly a map to keep you on your toes and an absolute winner for all.

Stockpile Review:
Set in a remote Russian farmtown Stockpile is much like a cross between W.M.D and Cracked in its setting. Large open areas on either side and a tight compact middle area.
A nice feature is the operational garage doors which make great for getting out of a tight spot when pinned behind a wall and coming round to flank your opponent.
There are however a lot of the areas on the map that seem unused and empty which given how large it is would be expected but we all know how the main attack areas change around the maps from time to time. Most likely down to people just having to learn the maps before working out strategic places. That said, most of the areas on the map have so many access points that people can stop for great periods of time meaning everyone is moving... BONUS.
Overall it is a very good map and it has some strong vantage points and CQC but the kills are either very spead out, or everone gets the same idea and goes for the middle building, which has so many points to be shot from it near on suicide running through... Unless its you who is taking names of course!

Hotel Review:
Hotel is quite a grand setting and doesnt fail to impress on first inspection. Big spot lights shine from the roof as if it was vegas but the rooms give it a very villa like style due to it's Old Havana setting. However venture downstairs and it opens up into a grand casino with a slightly war torn feel while the stage area complete with grand piano and smouldering cigarette make for a nice safe point.
Easy access between floors is provided in the form of many stairs and the nice addition of elevators which are placed very well for desperate getaways or quick cover.
The roof is a set perfectly for across the map shooting and funneled attacks that makes for some nice middle of map gunfights.
There are a lot of isolated areas on the outer edge of the hotel too which add a nice touch and the Interiors are very well thought out with good sized open areas and grand designs that then weave through corridoors and up stairs sometimes catching you off guard when someone is at the top waiting.
Overall a very good map with a variation of gameplay attacks and somewhere to hang out by the pool... for about 2.5 seconds before the Sniper has taken you down!

Zoo Review:
Coming Shortly

Call of Duty Call Of The Dead Review:
And so after much anticipation the "new Zombie experience is here. I start off and were in the middle of an icy opening with a small lake directly in front... one sec I'm playing as Buffy... I can deal with it this is the new Zombies. From the get go there is a tall electrifying man in the water (George Romero)with an extremely large bludgoning tool in the form of a bit of Lighting Rig. WARNING: Do not shoot him straight away he gets very, very annoyed. Take a stroll into the water and expect in about 5 seconds for your screen to freeze from the edges so dont hang around too long. However you can use this to your advantage for dragging the zombies or rather large and annoyed guy through the water thus slowing them down considerably, and in the Zombies case eventually freezing where they become one shot kill.
But firstly I must mention the Zombies entrance... Wow... Waiting anxiously for the first Zombie to appear... "HOLY *%$& they're coming out of the ground!". Let me warn you these Zombies are quite fast compared to their pre-decessors and they also look very... Disturbing. Anyhow carrying on there are several passages leading from Icy open area all covered with debris in the form of boats (The M14 Rifle is on the nearby bridge).
However contrary to my advice earlier, I was not in the same knowledge and well... we shot all hell at the big guy with the hammer... and he was less than happy I would have to say, releasing a deafening noise that not only shook the screen but sent the entire area dark... Now it got a bit eerier.
Unexpectedly when running down a small caved entrance to my surprise, the zombies are coming out of the ceiling too! So beware and keep your eyes open because from what has been seen so far I would say it is possible for them to come from anywhere.
As you travel round the extremely large map discovering all the new areas and passaged you really do fear that big hammer guy running around after you and are constantly checking your back for the bad news.
And this feature deserves a special mention. The Zip line. It may only be a zip line but the difference now is that they have added the addition of rotating on the zipline so you can run and jump on to the line and hurtle towards the ground Last Action Hero style all guns blazing picking off zombies... Need I say more on that subject other than SWEET!
The other new addition is the flinger which is basically a huge band stretched back that once released fires you and your compadres across the map at high speed, this is particularly fun!
This is one of my Favourites: Deadshot Daiquri. This brilliant new perk lets you perform instant headshots and only cost $1500.
To turn the power on go up the first stairs on the boat after clearing the debris then from the top of the stairs head forward then up the stairs on your left. Go down the passage to the right and head in the door on the left hand side. Simples

In summary the new Call of the Dead Map is awesome! It is faced paced, adrenaline filled and damn right scary. Treyarch have certainly outdone themselves with this new addition and more than delivered on creating a "Whole new Zombie experience".

This is a must have for any Call Of Duty fan and must have for everyone else!

New!! Call of Duty: Black Ops - Taste of Escalation

Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation Zombie Map Pack: Call of the Dead!

Just new in is the new Zombie Map Pack. The details we have gathered so far are as follows:
There is an all star cast consisting of George A Romero, Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Yes Buffy!), Michael Rooker and Danny Trejo (Machete).
It is said to be the largest Zombies highlighting sniping as a possibility.
Also some features include the zip line which you may be able to rotate on and a device called the "Flinger" that catapults you across the map.
This is from the press release:
"This is Treyarch's tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team." says Dave Anthony, Call of Duty: Black Ops Director. "It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whose passion and energy brought their characters instantly to life. Fans are going to love this."
It definetly looks set to be as good or if not better than they promised.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation Call of the Dead Video

Call of Dead In-Game Images

Specially for you we have the new Escalation Trailer:

The Maps included are:

Hotel (multiplayer)
According to Treyarch, this one is set on the roof of a luxury hotel and casino in Cuba, "against the vivid backdrop of old Havana". There are interiors of a plush gambling hall and an outdoor swimming pool. Online director Dan Bunting promises lots of flank paths and neat little places to hide. There are also elevators leading to upper rooms, with clear sniping points over the pool.

Convoy (multiplayer)
With a hint of Homefront about it, Convoy is based around a Russian invasion of the US, playing on '50s fears of communist expansionism. A US army convoy has been hit by an ambush, and the map is placed amongst the wreckage. There's a road running through the middle with sniper positions high on either side. "Delivers intense, close-quarters combat," according to Activision's press release.

Zoo (multiplayer)
Here we're promised, 'a wild ride' in an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo. In the video, Bunting explains that the level contains lots of overwatch positions, with a monorail circuit running around the area. Sounds a bit like Discovery from the First Strike pack, with its long raised walkway, running the length of the map.

Stockpile (multiplayer)
The most varied of the new maps, set in a remote Russian farm town, hiding secret WMD facilities with a stockpile of armaments. The building in the centre of the map has operational garage doors that players can close to protect key positions.

Call of the Dead (zombie multiplayer)
There is an all star cast consisting of George A Romero, Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Yes Buffy!), Michael Rooker and Danny Trejo (Machete).
It is said to be the largest Zombies highlighting sniping as a possibility.
Also some features include the zip line which you may be able to rotate on and a device called the "Flinger" that catapults you across the map.
It definetly looks set to be as good or if not better than they promised.
